The Yo-Zuri Crystal Minnow DD Walleye 90 mm Floating Lure is a deep-diving floating minnow tuned for walleye-style work, but the same idea applies to any predator holding below the upper water column.
The diving bill is the important part: it gets the lure down and keeps it tracking through a defined lane.
Retrieve or troll it at a controlled pace so it reaches working depth.
When casting, use pauses after it contacts rock, bottom transitions, or weed edges; the floating body can rise slightly and then drive back down when you restart.
It is strongest along drop-offs, deeper weed lines, rock points, ledges, and open bait lanes.
It is not for skinny flats, but it solves the problem of a normal minnow constantly passing above fish that are holding lower.
TARGET SPECIES: sea bass, flathead, trevally, snapper, queenfish, bluefish, barramundi, and other inshore predators feeding on baitfish.
