The Yamashita Armer Squid Jig is a heavier squid jig built for deeper water, stronger current, or boat-based eging where a normal shallow egi will not get down properly.
The 56g weight matters because the lure has to reach the squid before the drift carries it out of the zone.
Work it with firm lifts to make the jig jump, then let it fall on controlled slack.
Squid often grab during the fall, so do not rush the retrieve or keep the line so tight that the jig loses its natural glide.
It is strongest around deeper weed, reef edges, drop-offs, harbour channels, and current lines.
It is not the first pick for shallow calm water unless you need the extra weight; use lighter egi when squid are high and slow-moving.
TARGET SPECIES: squid, cuttlefish, and cephalopods around weed beds, rock edges, harbour lights, reef pockets, and current seams.
