The Xesta Flap SLJ Metal Jig is an SLJ metal jig for light jigging and casting situations where you want fall appeal without using a huge offshore jig.
In the 80g class, it is best matched to depth, current, and line angle rather than treated as one-size-fits-all.
The key is the fall.
Work it with short lifts, half-pitches, and controlled drops so the jig flashes and stalls like a wounded baitfish.
A straight retrieve can still catch active fish, but the lure earns its keep when you let it flutter through the strike zone.
Use it around reef edges, bait schools, shallow offshore marks, harbour channels, and inshore grounds where fish are feeding below the surface.
It is not the best tool when you only need maximum speed; it is better when fish are eating on the drop or following bait through the mid-water.
TARGET SPECIES: snapper, grouper, trevally, mackerel, sea bass, flatfish, and inshore predators feeding around bait and reef edges.
