Unlike a minnow, it does not need a bill or lip; the body shape creates its own roll and flutter as it moves through the water.
Use a steady retrieve when fish are chasing, or let it fall and lift it through deeper pockets when they are sitting lower.
The fall is often the trigger because the spoon flashes like wounded bait or a small fish losing balance.
It is strongest in rivers, lakes, deeper pools, inshore edges, and situations where fish respond to flash.
It is less subtle than a soft plastic, so slow down or downsize if fish are following but not eating.
