It is best used when predators are looking upward or using shallow water to trap bait.
Work it with pops, sweeps, short twitches, or a steady wake depending on the shape.
The pause is important: many fish follow the disturbance first and eat when the lure suddenly looks catchable.
It is strongest over shallow flats, weed tops, rock edges, timber lines, bait schools, and low-light feeding lanes.
It is not the best pick when fish are holding deep or the surface is too rough for them to track the lure.
TARGET SPECIES: bass, sea bass, trevally, queenfish, bluefish, snakehead, pike, and predators willing to strike near the surface.
