The suspend pause is important because the lure can hang in the strike zone instead of rising away or sinking out too fast.

Use twitches to make it kick and flash, then pause it beside structure, current seams, and drop-offs.

In cold or pressured water, lengthen the pause; in active water, keep the cadence moving.

It is strongest for larger trout, sea-run fish, bass, and predators in bigger pools or estuary edges.
