The Jackson Gallop Swimmer Jig is a jig/minnow hybrid for covering water with the reach of metal and a more baitfish-like swimming action.
It is useful when fish are beyond normal plug range but still want a lure that swims instead of just falling like a metal jig.
Use a steady retrieve for swimming action, then add lifts and drops when fish are deeper.
Watch the line on the fall because many hits come when the lure stalls or drops after a lift.
It is strongest from shore, rocks, beaches, harbour walls, and deeper flats where distance and sink control matter.
It is not a finesse lure for dead-calm shallow fish.
TARGET SPECIES: mackerel, trevally, bonito, Spanish mackerel/sagoshi, flatfish, sea bass, snapper, and shore predators feeding on baitfish.
