The Pompadour is a winged crawler topwater bait for calling fish up with a slow, noisy, water-pushing action.
The wings and body create surface disturbance at slow speed, which is why this lure works when you want to keep a big target in the strike zone.
Retrieve it slowly enough that the wings work cleanly.
Pause it beside weed, timber, docks, rock edges, shade, or open pockets, because many strikes come when a fish tracks the sound and then eats as the lure stalls.
It is strongest in low light, warm water, around cover, and anywhere predators are willing to hunt upward.
It is not a finesse bait for dead-clear pressured fish unless the conditions support a surface bite.
The darker or warmer finish gives stronger contrast than a plain silver baitfish look, making it useful around stain, shade, rocky bottom, or fish feeding close to cover.
TARGET SPECIES: bass, snakehead, peacock bass, sea bass, trevally, queenfish, bluefish, and predators willing to strike near the surface.
