The crawling action pushes water and gives predators a trackable target when they are looking upward around cover.
Fish it slowly enough that the wings or body action work properly.
Around calm pockets, weed edges, timber, shade, and night/low-light zones, a slow steady crawl with pauses is often better than rushing it back.
It is strongest when fish are shallow, territorial, or feeding near the surface.
It is not the best option in heavy wind, dirty rough water, or when fish are holding deep.
