Deps Slip Head Jig Rubber 1/8 oz 06
1/8 oz | Sinking | Rubber Jig
This is a rubber jig for fishing close to cover and bottom, where the skirt and head shape matter more than flashy open-water action.
The skirt breathes when the jig stops, giving the lure life even when it is barely moving.
Use it for dragging, pitching, short hops, and slow crawls through rock, timber, weed edges, drains, and deeper pockets.
The best bites often come after the jig hits bottom and pauses, because the skirt flares and the trailer can keep moving without pulling the lure away from the fish.
At 1/8 oz, it gives enough feel for controlled bottom contact.
Match the trailer to the mood: a subtle trailer when fish are pressured, a flapping or bulky trailer when the water is dirty or fish are feeding aggressively.
The finish should be chosen by matching it to the water rather than assuming one colour works everywhere.
Use subtle natural colours in clear water, brighter or higher-contrast colours in dirty water, and darker silhouettes when fish are tracking shape more than detail.
Its limitation is that it is slower than a search bait.
If fish are scattered and chasing high in the water, a spinnerbait, crankbait, or swimbait may find them faster.
Use the jig when you believe fish are tight to cover or feeding close to bottom.
TARGET SPECIES: bass, grouper, snapper, flathead, perch, seabass, and other fish holding close to bottom, cover, or current breaks.
