Essential Guide to Packing Fishing Gear for the Maldives

on
Just completed a trip to Maldives. This is how I pack my gear to keep it below 20 KG.
1. Evergreen Oceanus and Stella reels 18k 14k 6k 4k 1k.
2. Lures without hooks in a washable container. There are many models available at Lure Haven
3. 20 x Big Jigs in a jig roll from Palmarius. Damn good Jig roll bag
4. Small jigs in 2 clear pouches. One for jigs below 80 and one for Heavy Tungsten. Get the quality thick plastic ones. 10 x tungsten 130 - 150. 20 x assorted sizes lead below 80.
5. Assist hooks in 2 boxes, seperated and marked clearly. One box for jigs. Below 80 and one for above
6. Treble hooks in 2 Meiho Slit Foam boxes. Use marker pen to write the size on the hook itself for ease of identification. 3/0 below one box and one box for bigger. Split ring all your trebles for quick access.
7. leaders grouped in a plastic bag for easy storing.
8. Pliers tools gip sunglasses sunblock and miscellaneous items stuffed into various corners.
9. Extra box of last minute might use lures.
10. Fighting belt and clothes in handcarry backpack.
11. Terminal tackle swivels and rings all sorted in a Meiho accessory case. Rigged some splits to rings. My configuration combo is Swivel Size - split ring size : 4-4 , 3-5, 2-7, 1-9,
3/0 - 11.
All good tackle and storage solutions available at Lure Haven. Hope this info helps you.
