Egi is a Japanese word used to describe a style of lure designed specially to catch squid of various species. They come in a big variety of sizes, colors, and even materials.
What Is Eging?
Eging is a fishing technique using Egi ( squid jigs ) to target squid, especially during night fishing.
Anglers cast out their Egi and allow the squid jig to sink to the bottom or the desired depth on a slack line and then do a couple of quick jerks upwards, followed by winding up the slack line as you drop the rod tip, Slack line allows the squid jig to fall naturally. The process is repeated until the line tightens when a squid is hooked.
